Burkhard Heim

This is the wonderful life of Burkhard Heim all his achievements and mishaps that led him to become the physicist who developed theories about moving through space. 'Burkhard had since the age of six wanted to be a rocket scientist he secretly made small explosives in his parents basement to test his rockets. Burkhard was an intellectual young man who loved to learn about anything he could. "During the 1940's he worked in an explosives lab in Germany, during this time frame is where he became handicapped. During laboratory work an object exploded in his hands costing him both hands, 90% of his vision, and most of his hearing'."[1] However this did not stop Burkhard. His family became his pencil as he worked through quantum theory and quantum mechanics to develop what is known as the "Heim Theory", or "Heim's Theory of Elementary Particles" . His theory is very long containing multiple theories such as cosmology and quantum field theory.

Insight and Influences

"Burkhard Hiem was born February 9, 1925 in Potsdam Germany". This time frame was post WWII, so the chances of his family having money or valuable possesions was very small. Education was most likely not of high qaulity, because the country was in such poor condition. The fact Heim became a physicist in this place and time is very remarkable. [2]

Major Contributions

Burkhard Heim’s contribution to the scientific world was his theory on traveling through space known as the “Heim Theory” or the unified field theory. Heim states that chemical drives are inferior in design compared to a unified field drive. Some scientists still strongly disagree because his theory involves anti-gravity. “Anti-gravity is some times considered pseudoscience because it means creating a space or object free of gravity.”[3] Anti-gravity is still hypothetical because according to physics everything with mass has gravity, so even though your in space no matter how small the force is something’s gravity is affecting you. The other issue scientists have is that we don’t know how electromagnetic fields affect gravity. We know it does we just don’t know how.
The first of Heim’s proposed ideas was through electromagnetic forces, gravitational forces, and weak and strong forces.” This was the first time these ideas had been treated as distortions of their proper Euclidean metrics in a higher dimensional space.” “This theory was later plugged into a DESY
(Deutsches Elektronen Synchrotron, "German Electron Synchrotron"). Up to this point his theory had not been viewed by fellow scientists. These results were not widely published and were scrutinized.” Heim then began work with a man Walter Dröscher. This lead to Heim publishing a second volume that was more reviewed and when again entered into to the DESY was almost error free.

Heim’s theory is obviously very very long. His theory is also incomplete. It is compiled of multiple types of physics such as Quantum physics, Electrodynamics, relativity, and metrons. Heim’s partner, Walter, inputted more information into the theory after Heim died in 2001. Even with the added information the theory is still not complete because the complex math is incomplete. Although, the information derived from the theory has given ideas on the theory of a warp drive. Again these ideas are fuzzy because of the incomplete theory. More light may be shed on the subject once more of Heim’s theory is completed.

Affects and Effects

After he became handicapped during world war two he used his family as his hands and eyes. "Burkhard worked with few people after his accident because of trust issues. For example, people embezzled money from a society he founded in 1959. He even saw fellow colleagues as potential thieves or plagiarists."[3] This may also be another reason for working exclusively inside his home. As far as I can tell the few people he talked to were Walter DrĶscher, Carl Friedrich von WeizsĤcker, Heisenberg, family, and companies trying to work with him He also indirectly affected other physicists. He met Heisenberg briefly on the topic of a hydrogen bomb. Heim did surprise Heisenberg with his input but thought the approach was impractical. Carl Friedrich was a nuclear physicist and worked for the Nazi’s during WWII. Later Carl became the professor at Max Planck Institute and director of theoretical physics. At this institute is where Heim enrolled himself under Professor Friedrich. Carl noticed studies became difficult due to his handicaps and made it difficult to work in teams. Carl didn’t want Heim to work to hard on a unified field theory, but this was Heim’s main point of interest. Walter Dröscher was the man involved in Heim’s second report after he entered his first theory into the DESY. With the help of Walter, Heim proposed a peer reviewed and revised theory that had almost no error. After Heim died in 2001 Walter wanted to finish as much of Heim’s work as he could. Indeed Walter has added on the theory, but much is still to be written out. One company that wanted to fund Burkhard’s experiments was BĶkow. This company was an aerospace company that was interested in space flight. The chief C.E.O of the company, Ludwig Ba¶kow, suggested to Heim that he try to secure as many strong facts as possible. Heim impacted multiple physicists indirectly with his theory. They were shocked to see a theory that could manipulate gravity using a theoretical particle called a graviton. Heim angered some physicists, because they think that there is no for sure way of testing or creating a machine that can create anti-gravity. Although those same scientists do agree that Heim’s six dimensional model does agree with his theory.
So all in all Burkhard Heim is a man who shook the world of space travel. Parts of his theory make sense or can be tested, but other parts are still a little unbelievable. The idea of creating a space in the universe without gravity is hard concept to grasp. It took Heim a six dimensional model when the real world is only made of three(i could be wrong about the three dimension part). Burkhard's theory is still incomplete, and maybe just maybe when all the math twisted ideas are complete we may see a faster space travel engine. Heim's idea of anti gravity has truly rocked the physics world of thinking. Burkhard is more than just an amazing physicist, but a role model even more. Even with his extreme handicaps, Heim developed a theory on freaking space travel!!!!!!! Heim affected more than just the scientific world, but also the real world as a whole. Ask yourself how many people have one eye, no hands, and can hardly hear and still do something this difficult. I know for certain he's taught me about doing my homework.

Legacy

Burkhard Heim is primarily remembered for creating his theory on space travel using a unified field theory. The theory is a six dimensional model creating a theoretical particle called a graviton. With the creation of the graviton he creates his unified field theory or anit-gravity. The use of his unified field theory is for future space ships to travel faster with out the use of chemical based propulsion systems. The idea of anti-gravity is not widely accepted yet, but some day it could be proven and used for space flight. His theory, which is still incomplete, is a road map for new and younger physicists to guide off of for future space travel. Even with his highly distorting handicaps Burkhard can also be remembered for his determination and work ethic. The man developed an immensly complex theory of space trajectory minus both hands, an eye, and most of his hearing. How many people can you list on one hand that would do something that awesome? The list of Heim's achievments is short and powerful. The list consists of future space flight, more evidence to the exsistance of a graviton, anti-gravity, and amazing determination can do anything
